On Thursday, Su had a blood transfusion at Bridgwater Hospital. She received two units of blood-type ‘A Positive’ during a six-hour procedure.

Regular blood samples are taken from Su and latest results have shown her red blood cell count to be very low. We were informed that she was now classed as anaemic. It is hoped that the blood transfusion will give Su extra energy and reduce fatigue.

Her chemotherapy treatment is unaffected by the transfusion and will continue for at least another six weeks.
